[Digital] Our Spirit Animals: Day of The Dead Wisdom
with Grandmother LánéSaán Moonwalker - Yoeme, Apache
This will be about acknowledging those animals, non-human animals in our journey and life, many of whom we have carried over from other lifetimes.
Learn how to honor them and their presence in our life, and particularly when it comes to the Day of the Dead.
It is during this very sacred time that we have the opportunity to visit with those beings that have been in our life, such as a dog or a parrot who have now crossed over the Rainbow Bridge and are in the spirit realm.
Our alebrijes are actually spirit animals that help us negotiate that transition from the physical realm and into that meeting place that is between the physical and the spirit.
Not only are our alebrijes there to help guide us, but so are our beloved departed friends and family. Sometimes a teacher, if they were a mentor.
For us, these 4 days - October 30th to November 2nd provide an opportunity to honor them. In honoring them, we actually strengthen that relationship.
If these are creatures, you may actually have one of them currently living. Sometimes these can be animals from our childhood, sometimes current.
Class Preparations:
Participants are required to bring supplies which will include photos or drawings and statuettes, as well as the little items that go with the animals, such as a bone for a dog or some such matter. These are not to be actual food. It will be a representation of what would be given to the physical critter. If the critter is alive now, then it can be actual physical food which will be given to them later.
Please bring materials for decorating your statuettes such as ribbons, paint, etc.
Participants will also need to have food for themselves, such as a drink, perhaps cacao or tea.
All participants will all be given access to a recording of the session after they register for 30 days to watch and replay.
This offering is presented in English.
The offering is approximately 2 hours.
This offering was a live Zoom presentation. The offering was recorded in high quality, which is now available for patricipants.
Grandmother LánéSaán Moonwalker has been an oracle, healer, spiritual teacher, and environmental guardian for more than 45 years.
Grandmother LánéSaán began her training in the healing arts at the age of 12 from members of her family who were highly skilled curanderas (traditional healers who combine Native and Catholic spiritual beliefs and practices). From her mother, she learned to work with creative expression as a doorway to spirit.
Grandmother LánéSaán is an accomplished artist, a weaver and painter, as well as a dancer and singer, and holds a degree in humanities and the visual arts from the University of Colorado. She has been a licensed minister for more than 32 years, and is a Canon in the Brigade of Light.
Grandmother LánéSaán has studied with many spiritual teachers, including artist, writer, and visionary Joseph Rael (Beautiful Painted Arrow), Eric Tao and Marian Starnes.
In 1987, she met her main teacher Tu Moonwalker, an Apache, the great great granddaughter of Cochise. Tu was the holder of this unbroken Moonwalker lineage and Láné is an acknowledged part of that it, in addition to being from an unbroken lineage herself through her Yaqui grandmother. Together Tu and Grandmother LánéSaán founded the Philosophy of Universal Beingness within the Whole. The foundation of this system is about working with nature in a sacred way.
